Yujia is an international student from China and she is currently a 3rd year and has started on her MFA. Her major is graphic design and Yujia got her BFA in China and she decided to come study in the United States.

Format Analysis

Yujia put in a lot of effort in her gallery and it really showed. Yujia put her art work on gun violence which I thought was very brave of her because gun violence is currently ruining the United States. Her gallery looked as if I went into an art museum that displayed gun violence. It was really detailed and it caught my attention right away.

Content Analysis

Yujia first got her inspiration on gun violence from her mom. Her mom was very worried in sending Yujia to the United States because of the gun violence that was going on here and she had heard of international students being killed. Yujia decided to put her artwork in gun violence after hearing about her mother worry. Yujia worked on this project for about a year and it really showed in her gallery. Her pieces were very detailed and it showed a lot of history behind it as well as the victims of gun violence and how much it has plagued the United States.

Synthesis/My experience

I thought Yujia’s art work was sending a message and it really needs to be seen everywhere. Gun violence has been intolerable and it really has to be dealt with. I liked the message Yujia was sending in her art work and what point she was trying to bring about gun violence. Her art gallery really gave a lot of information behind gun violence and it was really educational to the audience. I was able to learn more about gun violence through her art gallery. I really appreciated her artwork. IMG_0348
